Halloween Traditions
Halloween is one of the oldest traditions that is celebrated. 1500 years ago, people would offer food so that the dead won’t bother them. Other people tried to scare away the evil spirits with scary decorations. This celebration would be considered All Hallow’s Day. The day before was named All Hallow’s Eve, All Hallow’s Eve was shortened to, Halloween.
Trick or treating is also very old. Tricksters would want to prank people constantly. For them to stop, you must offer up, a treat. The tricksters would stop bothering that person and go to the next person. Our current tradition now is to go door-to-door asking for candy in a costume. Sometimes the houses are decorated to be scary as well. We hope you have a safe Halloween.
