The National Basketball Association (NBA) playoffs are a best of seven game series. It contains sixteen teams in two
different conferences, the Eastern and Western conference. It determines which
is the best. The playoffs happen each year in the month of April. This year it
started on April 28th. The top eight teams in each conference battle
it out in the first round. First place team against eighth, second against
seventh, third against sixth, and fourth against fifth. They then advance to
the Conference Semifinals, the Conference Finals, and eventually into the
Finals where the two best teams in each conference battle it out until they win
the NBA championships. During the playoffs, the MVP award, the Sixth Man award,
and the Most Improved Player award is rewarded of the by the commissioner of
the NBA, David Stern. Win or go home!
